When it rains the Althon Skeletank allows the Rainwater to be stored temporarily and to be released in a very Slow and Controlled manner. The process reduces downstream flooding. The philosophy behind using the Althon Skeletank in this way is known as Rainwater Attenuation.

Althon Skeletank can be used as a Rainwater Attenuation unit as part of a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS).

When used for Rainwater Attenuation Althon Skeletank complies with Building Regulations Part H.
